She was retired from Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill. Sarah attended Antioch Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clinton T. Cook; daughter, Mary Jane Berry; father, Russell H. Johnson, Sr.; mother, Vancie Johnson; brothers, Russell H. Johnson, Jr., David Johnson, John Johnson and Larry Johnson; sisters, Barbara Lane, Lillian Sarten and Linda Johnson.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Cook (Trish), Ray Cook (Debbie) and Tony Cook (Mary Ellen); daughters, Pat Amburn (Jim), Debbie Cook; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; son-in-law, Joe Berry; sister, Joyce White; brother, Kenneth Johnson (Donna); brother-in-law, Gerald Lane and sisters-in-law, Shirley Cook and Sue Cook; and several nieces, nephews and close neighbors; and her faithful servant, Sambo.
A special thank you to the staff of Station 3 at Kindred Nursing Home and her roommate, Shirley Bright. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Hickory Valley Cemetery.
